Creating dashboards
This article is part of The Definitive Guide to Uploading and Preparing Data
Dashboards in Crunch can be made at the moment by anyone with Editor-level access.
Dashboards can be created and modified in two ways, interchangeably:
- Via the GUI
- Via Crunch Automation
Accessing the Crunch Automation that defines a dashboard enables you to accomplish key tasks:
- Tweaking existing dashboard content (eg: applying a weight, changing a filter or question) via the script
- Copying a dashboard from one dataset to another
- Using a script as a 'template' for dashboards
- Generating a dashboard automatically using script (eg: with a macro or other script generator)
After creating a dashboard from script, researchers can continue to edit a dashboard and add/delete content if they are editors. The script and the GUI-based changes are effectively two sides of the same coin.
