Dataset editors can add tiles to a dashboard that contains rich-formatted text and/or images. This can be used for dashboard analysis, terms and conditions, privacy notices, fieldwork dates, logos, page decorations, and anything else the editor may wish to display.
You can add as many of these tiles to your dashboard as you'd like, and as with other dashboard tile types, you can resize them and reposition them as desired.
Creating a rich-text tile
To add a rich-text tile to a dashboard, click the Edit button in the upper right to put the dashboard into edit mode (this is only available to editors of that dataset). Add a rich-text tile to the dashboard by clicking the "+" button in the upper right. Choose "Add rich-text tile" from the dropdown options, which will slide in the edit panel:
By default, the text editor shows in WYSIWYG mode, meaning that you can use the normal text formatting options you are already familiar with from common applications (such as Microsoft Word) where you'll see exactly how the text will appear. You can also paste in pre-formatted text from other sources and it should keep that formatting (so long as those formats are supported).
Alternatively, switch to "Markdown" mode to enter your own markdown syntax for extra control (but there's no need to do this if you don't want to).
In WYSIWYG mode, you can add images in one of two ways—by copying and pasting an image in from your clipboard or by clicking on the 'Add image' icon in the WYSIWYG toolbar. Crunch will attempt to resize the image to best fit the tile you are using, but bear in mind that the viewers of your dashboard may have larger or smaller screens than you, so it's best to make some allowances.
When you are done, click Save. The rich-text tile will be added at the bottom of the dashboard. If you have multiple tabs, you’ll find that the new tile is added to the bottom of the first tab. You can resize and reposition these tiles however you want them. The text, including formatting, will export to both Excel and PowerPoint, but exporting images is not yet supported.
