Permissions are granted to Crunch users at a folder level. The folder permissions are inherited by the datasets saved in the folder.
- If a user has Editor permissions on a folder, the user will also have Editor permissions to all datasets saved in the folder and all subfolders.
- If a user has Viewer permissions on a folder, the user will have Viewer permissions to all datasets saved in the folder. The user will also have Viewer permissions for all subfolders unless the user is granted Editor permissions to a subfolder. If this is the case, the user will have Editor permissions on any datasets in the subfolder where they have Editor permissions.
Folder permissions work hierarchically. Users with Editor permissions also have all permissions granted to viewers.
Viewers can create personal items in the dataset (see details in the table below) and can share folders with anyone unless the share option is restricted for that folder. These users can view and analyze data, but cannot make changes to the underlying data.
Note: Viewers cannot currently create dashboards.
Editors can create anything public in the dataset. Additionally, these users can modify folder settings such as templates and branding, as well as upload new datasets.
The following is a summary of what Viewers and Editors can do within a dataset. Remember, Editors can do everything Viewers can do:
