Application password requirements
When users reset their password, Crunch will reject the new password unless it meets certain minimum requirements as follows:
- If the new password is longer than 20 characters, it must contain a minimum of two of the following:
- An uppercase letter
- A lowercase letter
- A special character
- A number
- If the new password is 20 characters or less, it must contain all of the following:
- An uppercase letter
- A lowercase letter
- A special character
- A number
- The required length for standard users is a minimum of 8 characters.
- The required length for admin users is a minimum of 12 characters.
We highly recommend that users use long passphrases instead of passwords for security and for ease of remembering the credentials for accessing the service.
Examples:
- Secure 8 character password: 4B3a8f4$
- Secure passphrase: correct horse battery staple
Spaces qualify as a special character.
Commonly used passwords, even if they meet other requirements, are also forbidden.
