A "multitable" is Crunch's term for a cross tab showing multiple variables side-by-side in columns. This is similar to the concept of a "banner" in tab book creation. A multitable is not a variable itself but is constructed from several variables or filters (for individual columns) already present in the dataset. To nest variables in the definition, you would need to create a new variable that is an interaction of the variables that you would like nested. (See: Creating Interactions / Nested Variables)
A dataset can have several multitable definitions, whether set up in advance and made publicly available by the data processor, or personal definitions created by individual users. A saved multitable definition can be edited from the dropdown menu.
Note: A multitable definition is required for a user to create or export tabs/tab books.
