Filters are a key analytic feature in any project.
Researchers can make their own filters on the fly using the drop-zones. They can also make more complicated features using the Filter Builder (ie: in line with Boolean logic).
A data processing department may choose to set up a variety of filters in a dataset in advance of the researcher working in Crunch.
Note: Unlike other software, a filter is not stored as variable in Crunch. It is a construction that is derived from variables (called an artefact).
In the web app, the Filter Builder can be used to derive a variable (dichotomous - with values of 0's and 1's). But the resultant variable is not a filter.
