Does Crunch's AI generate new content or process customer data?

It depends on the usage:
- AI-powered search — does not use generative AI models. Crunch's search relies on embeddings that are computed with self-hosted models.
- Dashboard Intelligence — AI tiles use Generative AI to generate content (a summary) of the content a user has saved on a dashboard tab. This occurs when a user adds an AI summary tile to a dashboard and requests the summary.
Is Crunch's AI developed in-house or sourced from third parties?

Crunch uses a combination of in-house developed AI technologies and licensed third-party solutions.
Is Crunch's AI customized for individual customers?

No. Crunch's AI systems are not built or modified specifically for any individual customer.
Will customer data or intellectual property be used by Crunch's AI systems?

If a user chooses to add an AI summary tile to a dashboard, the analysis saved on the dashboard tab will be used to generate the summary of the dashboard tab. Crunch only sends the content saved on the dashboard tab where the AI summary was created. AI-powered search is entirely self-contained and does not use generative AI.
How is customer data protected when sent to AI subprocessors?

Crunch takes data protection seriously. Prior to engaging in any third-party subprocessor or vendor, Crunch evaluates their privacy, security, and confidentiality practices. Crunch currently is working with OpenAI and follows the OpenAI API Platform terms. OpenAI does not use data submitted via API to train OpenAI models or improve OpenAI’s service offering.
How does Crunch manage and mitigate AI risks?

Crunch follows internal policies and training programs to guide the appropriate use of AI. These safeguards are in place for all employees to ensure responsible AI usage.
What are the data retention obligations for third-party AI providers?

API inputs and outputs are removed from OpenAI within 30 days, unless they are legally required to retain them.
Is customer data used to train Crunch's AI models?

No. Customer data is not used in training Crunch's AI models.
Does Crunch have any future plans to implement additional AI in its offerings?

Yes. Crunch's use of AI is continuously evolving. Crunch is actively reviewing and developing new AI functionalities to enhance its offerings.
